Medications
not an inclusive list of all medications used
Your provider will discuss options and select the most appropriate medication if indicated for you.
GLP-1 Benefits • Reduces food intake by lowering appetite. • It slows food digestion in the stomach. • Decrease body fat percentage. • Weight loss. • Decreased cardiovascular outcomes in subjects with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. • Lower HbA1c levels. • Enhance the growth of β cells (insulin secreting cells) in the pancreas Semaglutide is a Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) produced by the gut. It increases insulin production, a hormone that lowers the blood sugar level while inhibiting glucagon secretion, which is a hormone that raises blood sugar, and reduces appetite and energy intake while delaying gastric emptying. It was first developed in 2012, and in June 2021, it was FDA approved for chronic weight management in obese individuals
AOD-9604 Benefits • Reduces body fat. • Regulates fat metabolism. • Stimulates Lipolysis. • Inhibits Lipogenesis. • Triggers fat release. It works by mimicking the way natural Growth Hormone regulates fat metabolism but without the adverse effects on blood sugar or growth that is seen with unmodified Growth Hormone. Like Growth Hormone, AOD 9604 stimulates lipolysis (the breakdown or destruction of fat) and inhibits lipogenesis (the transformation of nonfat food materials into body fat) both in laboratory testing and in animals and humans. Recent findings have shown, in addition to its fat loss properties, AOD 9604 processes many other regenerative properties associated with growth hormone. Currently, trials are underway to demonstrate the application of AOD 9604 in osteoarthritis, hypercholesterolemia, bone and cartilage repair. AOD 9604 has an excellent safety profile, recently obtaining Human GRAS status in the USA.
Tirzepatide Benefits • Reduces food intake by lowering appetite. • Promotes satiety, or the feeling of fullness, and may slow the rate of gastric emptying. • It slows food digestion in the stomach. • Decrease body fat percentage. • Enhanced weight loss. • Decreased cardiovascular outcomes in subjects with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. • Lower HbA1c levels. • Enhance the growth of β cells (insulin secreting cells) in the pancreas Tirzepatide is a drug developed as a treatment for obesity and type 2 diabetes. It is a combination of two hormones, GLP-1 and GLP-2, which work together to regulate appetite and glucose metabolism. The GLP-1 component of Tirzepatide stimulates the release of insulin in response to high blood sugar levels and suppresses the release of glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar levels. The GLP-2 component of the drug promotes satiety, or the feeling of fullness, and may slow the rate of gastric emptying, which can help to reduce food intake. Preclinical studies have shown that Tirzepatide can lead to significant weight loss. It is FDA approved as a treatment for type-2 diabetes and is used off lable as a weightloss medication.
B-12 Benefits Increased metabolism Aids the body in burning fats and carbohydrates Increased energy If Cyanocobalamin is taken orall only a small amount, approximately 1.2% of the orally administered dose is actually absorbed. Cyanocobalamin is a vital compound for cell division and growth, hematopoiesis, and nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis. This vitamin also has an important role in protein synthesis, neural metabolism, DNA and RNA production, as well as fat and carbohydrate metabolism. Several cells appear to have the greatest demand for cyanocobalamin, particularly those that undergo rapid division such as bone marrow and epithelial cells. Cyanocobalamin binds itself to plasma proteins in the systemic circulation. It attaches with specific cobalamin binding proteins, called transcobalamin I and II, to enter into the tissues. In cells, this vitamin functions as a cofactor for two vital enzymatic reactions: (1) methionine synthase, i.e. the regeneration of methionine from homocysteine (2) methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, i.e. the isomerization of methylmalonyl-CoA to succinyl-CoA. Both these methylation reactions are vital for growth and cell reproduction.
